Celebrating the life of
William Anthony Torres
December 08, 1948 - October 22, 2024
William Anthony Torres, 75, of Savannah, Georgia ascended to his heavenly resting place on October 22, 2024, where he has reunited with his beloved parents, Guillermo Torres and Carmen Martinez.
Born in New York City, Bill was encouraged to be a model student, but found his calling after he joined Ko-Rec-Type in Brooklyn, New York. Bill was a consummate salesman, with the charisma, charm, and genuine care for one's customers that are hallmarks of the very best. Bill spent many years in the office supply industry and eventually transitioned to the health insurance sector, where he remained until his retirement.
At the age of 21, Bill married Sonia Avilés, and together raised three children—all of whom inherited his contagious personality and compassionate nature. Bill's fierce love for his Puerto Rican heritage, and his family whether near and far, burned brightly through his last day.
Bill is survived by his three children, Anton, Brian, and Joy; his brother, Carlos; sister-in-law Theresa; nephew, Christopher; son-in-law Curtis; daughter-in-law Gabrielle; and his five grandchildren, Lucia, Wolfgang, Ziva, Enya, and Carlos.
A service to celebrate William Anthony Torres will be held on November 16 at 10:00 a.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Home, and all are welcome. An intimate ceremony for immediate family will be held on December 21 at 2:00 p.m. at the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Every time we remember the good times spent with the ones we lost, we keep them alive in our hearts. May thoughts of your time together ease your sorrow and bring you comfort and peace. With my deepest sympathy - sending you all so much love.

Remembering his smile is easy, as we see it on his grandson Carlos. Every encounter with Bill was a happy one, full of joy and love for his family. When he danced with our daughter at her wedding to his son, you could see such happiness on his face, yes he could dance! He was a proud man. May he sleep in peace. we will miss him. Family, love on one another and trust God for understanding and peace. Love Tirone and Phaedra Carolina

I always looked up to ”Mr. T” during my high school and college days. I spent a lot of time hanging out with Anton, Brian, and Joy at their apartment in Brooklyn, and he was always kind and welcoming to me. I’ll always remember him fondly. My love to the entire Torres family.
